About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Lead, Environment Management Systems, the Lead, Environmental Performance influences both proactive and reactive environmental performance management across EVR. While supporting Sustainable Development and asset teams in responding to non-compliances, incidents, and internal and external requirements, the primary focus is on strengthening systems, processes, and data quality to prevent issues before they occur. Working within the HSEC&HR framework, this role translates standards and requirements into practical, implementable processes that enable consistent performance across regional and asset teams. The role is responsible for delivering accurate, decision-ready environmental performance insights, ensuring data integrity, identifying trends, and highlighting priority risk areas to inform leadership decisions.
This position provides a unique enterprise-wide view of compliance and performance, enabling the identification of systemic gaps, development of best practices, and sharing of lessons learned to continuously strengthen environmental performance across EVR. The role also leads environmental incident investigations (5-Why and ICAM-based), supports field and office-based risk assessments, and drives the development, tracking, and effectiveness of corrective actions.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to influence across multidisciplinary teams without direct authority. The ideal candidate can effectively balance multiple priorities, thriving in both collaborative team settings and independent work environments. They demonstrate a high attention to detail, with a strong commitment to data quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
