Employee Spotlight
I’ve been with EVR for 14 years, with 8 months as a Co-op student. In my role as Manager, Engineering at Greenhills Operations, I am responsible for Mine Planning, Geology, Geotech, and Projects at Greenhills operations.
One of my proudest accomplishments has been the opportunity to work at all four different EVR sites within the Elk Valley.
One thing that makes EVR a great place to work is the ability to build a meaningful career while still being able to call the Elk Valley home and be home every night. What sets EVR apart is that people are proud to be a part of the operations and are committed to sustaining mining in the valley well into the future.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending lots of time outdoors with my family. In the summer we enjoy camping, boating, dirtbiking, and mountain biking. In the fall we enjoy hunting, and in the winter, skiing.
My advice to new team members is to be open to new challenges and opportunities. There is no “perfect” career progression, and you can get to your end goal through a multitude of different paths. Mining is a critical industry for the growth and success of Canada's economy. I am proud to be a part of the industry and to work for a company that is committed to mining in a sustainable manner.
